INVERCARGILL/BLUFF
We were up early the following morning as we were going to Invercargill and Bluff. That was going to be the most southern city we’ve been to. Our first stop was the world’s most southern Starbucks in Invercargill. We arrived in Invercargill on another very rainy day. We expected to see it snowing as it should’ve been colder. After seeing protests about vaccinations, we arrived at the world’s most southern Starbucks, which we overestimated. We expected a large restaurant-sized Starbucks, but in the end, all we saw was an under-construction takeaway store. With the closest town being Bluff, we travelled there and found Sterling Point. Sterling Point was a lookout we found and had the most epic view. We thought we saw Stewart Island from there. Even though the view was amazing, the wind blew hard on our faces and we needed to go inside somewhere. At that point, we were hungry again and needed lunch again. We found another seafood restaurant where we took shelter and ate oysters. Another iconic structure we hadn’t gone to yet was the big BLUFF sign. We took a few pictures there and went back to Invercargill and walked around the city to get used to the surroundings. As soon as we got back to our hotel to check in, we didn’t have much to do, so we ate dinner, watched more of The Lord Of The Rings, and went to sleep. Suddenly, disaster struck. I felt hot and sick. I couldn’t sleep. I drank water and kept trying to sleep. The pain was destroying the holiday. In the end, a cold towel was put over my forehead, and I could finally sleep. I woke up early the following morning and ate nothing for breakfast. I still felt sick.
