Marc I have noticed that you are continuing to spend more time involved in musical experiences and are also interested in including sea creatures in your play again.
So today when I crept into the music area, I was lucky to hear your beautiful singing voice accompanied by some rhythmic ukulele playing alongside your buddy Dean. I was also interested that you were singing some of your favourite sea creature songs such as, ‘I had a little turtle’ and ‘Slippery Fish’.
As you were singing Marc, you were strumming away on the ukulele creating your own beat. You would stop during the song to implement the actions to ‘Slippery Fish’ such as making hand gestures to imitate the fish, and putting your hands on your head to imitate the sharks fin. You remembered the different words and corrected Dean a couple of times when you thought he wasn’t singing it correctly.
Marc you experimented with your voice and demonstrated a real joy in singing your favourite songs with music to complement it. You explored different rhythms and confidently performed, entertaining yourself, Dean and a few other friends who happened to stop by and listen.
I wonder where we can continue to take your interest in singing to next Marc? Maybe we could invite you to play during mat time? Maybe we could make the sea creatures for you to use in your song? I can’t wait to explore this musical interest even further.
