Marc was exploring with some of our new blocks this afternoon. I watched as you carefully placed each block side by side. I noticed that you had made a shape with them so I asked you ‘What shape is that marc?’. I don’t think you realised that you had made a shape because you responded with excitement ‘triangle!’
I then suggested we count how many sides your shape had…..1,2,3,4…..you then studied your creation carefully and said ‘square’! Well done Marc!
You then went on to add some more blocks and said ‘look its a rectangle now.’ So clever Marc. I then noticed you making another creation by your rectangle and when I asked what it was you said ‘its a line’.
Marc, it was great to see you using your imagination to create and explore. You always take such pride in whatever it is that you do and do it with such concentration and determination. Great to see.
This has provided Marc with the opportunity to learn about how shapes can fit together, extend his imagination and creativity and make changes to his creation/s until he is satisfied with the result. Tino pai Marc.
