Pumpkin soup 14 五月 2015

What great helpers you are kiwi tamariki!

Since we planted the pumpkin seeds, we have been looking after our vegetable garden and today we harvested one of our pumpkins from the garden.

At first we washed off the dirt on the skin and cut it in half and began to clean the inside of the pumpkin by taking out the seeds in the middle with a spoon.

As we were taking out the seeds, we all could feel the slipperiness of the inside part of pumkin as well as see the colour of the inside.

Once we finished cleaning the inside, we then cut it into pieces, peeled the skin and put them into a big bowl.

“Now, it’s all ready to turn into pumpkin soup!”

Finally when our families came to the family/Whanau event at night, we all enjoyed tasting our very own pumpkin soup.

Yum, yum, yum!

It was great to see you kiwi tamariki, look after our veggie garden, helping and taking turns with each other and caring for yourself by having healthy food.

We, the teachers in the kiwi room, are all proud of you.

Thanks a million for helping in the preparation of the soup.

Kei te whakahihi au/I’m very proud!
